Promotion of initiatives to combat VAW in MENA and Denmark

A regional programme focusing on the following: 1) Promotion of awareness raising initiatives and advocacy in cooperation with local actors who are capable of influencing the local opinion on women’s rights and VAW, 2) Capacity building of women shelters and other professionals and organisations, providing support to and empowerment of victims of VAW, 3) Establishment of new and innovative support services (treatment, hotlines etc.) adjusted to the local circumstances and needs of local women, 4) Promotion of a sustainable regional network in MENA among civil society organizations occupied with VAW, capable of promoting a political agenda on women’s rights and working with advocacy.
