This is the Carter Center's final report on its observation mission for the 2011 Constituent Assembly elections in Tunisia.

The Oct. 23 election to choose the members of the Constituent Assembly, the body that will draft Tunisia's new constitution and form its transitional government, was the result of a successful popular revolution through which Tunisians declared their desire to overthrow the existing authoritarian regime and build a democratically elected government.
